Associate Professor Dr Akın Torun

Akın Torun was born in Kırşehir in 1992. After graduating from medical school in 2016, he completed his specialist training in cardiology and has worked primarily in the field of interventional cardiology.

In addition to his clinical practice, he conducts research into athlete health and performance physiology; acts as a performance consultant for various national teams; and serves as the first-team doctor in the Football Super League. He continues his academic work as a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Atlas University.

His main areas of interest are cardiovascular diseases, athletic performance assessments, preventive medicine and longevity practices. He is one of the few doctors in Europe who continues to carry out research in this field using a multidisciplinary approach that combines cardiology with sports medicine.

There are numerous scientific publications, academic studies and research projects at both national and international levels in the fields of cardiology and sports medicine.
