Before the Planting Starts

Before the planting starts, the doctor listens to the person’s demands and determines the planting area according to the face, hair, and skin structure. According to the determined model, the necessary calculations are made in millimetres, and it is planned how many grafts (hair follicles) will be planted in which region. Hair grows at an angle of 45 degrees deeply, and beard and mustache at an angle of 10 degrees. Since the angles of the beard, mustache, and sideburns are very low to the skin, the skill and harmony of the operator and his team who will apply this technique is of great importance. The hairs that will emerge as a result of the transplantation process should be natural and exactly compatible with the person’s original beard, mustache, and sideburns.

The Planting Process

After the planning, the first stage of the planting process is started. At this stage, the nape of the person is shaved and sterilized to collect the grafts. Then, an analgesic (painkiller) and sedative (relaxing) drug combination is given to the person by the anesthesiologist.

Then it goes to the second stage. Hair follicles are meticulously taken from the donor (nape area) area with micromotors. The use of very thin tips during this process ensures that no damage occurs in the nape area and that other roots are not damaged. While the collected grafts are waiting in a special solution, channel opening is performed in the transplantation area. Very small, smooth, and dense microchannels are opened in the target area with sapphire-tipped pens, which gives the name to the Sapphire FUE technique.

Sapphire, which is a hard crystal, allows the channels to be opened without damaging the scalp and existing roots with its structure that does not lose its sharpness. In this way, both the planted roots easily attach to the opened canals, and the target area heals quickly by reducing the crusting as the deformation is minimal. In the third and final stage, the grafts are being planted one by one in accordance with the natural exit angle, direction, and curvature of the opened channels and the hairs in that area. At this point, planting the beard and mustache at a right angle in accordance with the curve of the hairs; It is of great importance in terms of obtaining a natural and aesthetic appearance as intended. The planting process is completed in 4-5 hours on average, depending on the application area and the number of roots planted.

Beard, Sideburn, and Mustache Results

A pinhead-sized crusting occurs in both the donor and the target area. This crusting, which is almost invisible from the outside, goes away on its own in about 15 days.
