What Happens to the Donor Area After 2,000 Grafts?

Does a 2,000-Graft Hair Transplant Hurt?
No. A 2,000-graft hair transplant does not cause pain during the procedure. Local anaesthesia is administered before extraction begins. The injection itself may cause a brief pricking sensation. This is the only time patients report feeling any pain.

Months 1 to 3: Why Is My Hair Falling Out?
Shock loss is normal within the first 4 to 6 weeks following a hair transplant. The transplanted hairs enter the telogen resting phase and detach from the scalp. However, the follicle remains strong and viable beneath the surface.
- By this stage, the scalp appears similar to its pre-operative state. New follicles are in the resting phase before they begin to re-enter the anagen phase. Although this period may cause concern for many patients, it is a normal part of the hair transplant growth cycle.
Months 4 to 6: What Does Early Growth Look Like?
The first visible hairs appear along the hairline between the 4th and 5th months. At this stage, growth is sparse and fine, weak hair strands are visible. The hairs are in the early anagen phase and have not yet reached their terminal thickness.
