Lumecca is a new-generation, FDA-approved IPL system developed to treat pigmentation (dark spots) and vascular lesions on the skin. What Can You Expect After Treatment? Stages of Skin Regeneration
It is completely normal to experience a slight redness and a sensation of warmth on your skin immediately following the Lumecca treatment; this will subside on its own within a few hours. The most fascinating stage of pigmentation treatment begins within 24 to 48 hours after the procedure. The colour of the pigmentation that absorbs light darkens slightly. This is an indication that the treatment has successfully achieved its target and that the pigments have been broken down. Within approximately one week, these darkened pigments flake off at a microscopic level as part of the skin’s natural exfoliation process, revealing a completely smooth, clear skin surface underneath. In the case of vascular treatments, the colour of the capillaries fades immediately after the session or is absorbed and eliminated by the body within a few days. For many of our guests, depending on the condition of their skin, even a single session can produce dramatic and visible radiance and a reduction in blemishes. However, to achieve complete uniformity and a lasting effect, a two-session protocol at intervals of 2–3 weeks is recommended, depending on the skin’s needs.
No. Lumecca’s advanced sapphire cooling tip keeps the skin’s surface cool throughout the treatment. During the pulses, you will only feel a slight wave of warmth and a momentary pricking sensation; no local anaesthetic is required.
Given the general nature of pigmentation treatments, it is preferable to undergo Lumecca treatment during the autumn, winter and early spring months, when the sun’s effects are less intense. If the treatment is to be carried out during the summer months, a very strict sun protection regime is essential.
This treatment is not suitable for pregnant women, those with an active skin infection or an open wound, those with excessively tanned skin, or those taking medication that causes photosensitivity (such as certain acne treatments).
